The Saraswati River, although now a mystical and ancient river, is believed to flow through the regions of Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, and is worshiped as the goddess of knowledge, arts, and wisdom. This yatra (pilgrimage) is a special event held every twelve years to honor the goddess Saraswati and to cleanse the mind and soul.

About Saraswati Pushkaralu:
Saraswati Pushkaralu is an auspicious occasion that typically occurs once every twelve years when the planet Jupiter (Guru) enters the constellation of Taurus (Vrishabha Rashi), aligning with the celestial energy of the goddess Saraswati. Devotees gather in large numbers to take a holy dip in the Saraswati river or the designated sacred rivers associated with Saraswati, such as the Brahmaputra and the Yamuna, for purification and spiritual rejuvenation.

The Yatra from Delhi:
For those in Delhi, the Saraswati Pushkaralu Yatra presents an opportunity to embark on a deeply spiritual journey, visiting revered temples, participating in prayers, and immersing oneself in the sacred atmosphere of this divine event. During the yatra, pilgrims travel to various locations where the Saraswati river is believed to flow or where significant Saraswati temples exist.

The yatra symbolizes the search for divine wisdom and a deeper connection with the goddess Saraswati. The ritual bathing in the holy waters is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and wisdom to the pilgrims. Devotees also participate in reciting hymns, offering prayers, and seeking blessings for intellectual growth and success in various aspects of life.
