For those in Haridwar, the journey offers a chance to partake in the festivities and rituals associated with this sacred event.
About Saraswati Pushkaralu:
The Saraswati Pushkaralu takes place once every twelve years when the planet Jupiter (Guru) enters the zodiac sign of Taurus (Vrishabha Rashi). During this time, the energy of the Saraswati River, believed to be a source of divine knowledge, is believed to be at its peak, making it an ideal time for worship and spiritual awakening. Pilgrims undertake the yatra to cleanse themselves spiritually by taking a dip in the sacred waters associated with the Saraswati River and participating in devotional activities.
The Yatra from Haridwar:
For pilgrims residing in Haridwar or nearby areas, the Saraswati Pushkaralu Yatra is a unique opportunity to experience this holy event and connect with the river goddess. The yatra typically involves travel to key spiritual destinations along the Saraswati River and its tributaries, including Kurukshetra in Haryana, Saraswati Tirth in Swarghat, and Hathnikund.
Spiritual Significance:
