ITINERARY for Winter Chardham Yatra from Delhi

Day 01: DELHI – HARIDWAR

First day morning, get to Haridwar (230 km – 6 to 7 hrs journey). On arriving here at Haridwar, check in to your hotel first. At evening, you can visit Har ki Pauri to observe the recognized Ganga Aarti on the bank of river Ganges. Overnight remain at Haridwar.


Day 02: HARIDWAR – BARKOT

As early as possible leave for Barkot that day itself, this is located at the foothills of Yamunotri (205 km – 6 to 7 hrs). You will be taken via Mussoorie so analyze Kempt Falls on the way. On overall look at Barkot, check-in to your hotel/ camp, pre-booked for you. The day is able to relax and acclimatization. Store your energy for the next day go up to Yamunotri. Instantly stay at Barkot for overnight.


Day 03: BARKOT – KHARSALI – BARKOT

This Morning just after finishing your breakfast, leave for Kharsiali (40 km). Yamunotri (3,291 m) is the westernmost shrine of the Char Dham. It is the origin of the stream Yamuna, the sister of Yama, the Lord of Death It is thought anyone who bathes in her waters gets relief from a torturous death. The very first way to obtain the river is in Champasar Glacier, nearly 1 km before the shrine (4,321 m). After your trip to the famous temple, take a holy dip in the river water and go for other religious rituals here. Come back through the same route to Barkot, for overnight stay in the hotel itself.


Day 04: BARKOT – UTTARKASHI

This morning, drive (85 km – 3 hrs journey) towards Uttarkashi. On getting here, check in to the hotel. The whole day is free for acclimatization. In the evening time, you may visit the popular Vishwanatha temple. Overnight stay at a hotel here in Uttarkashi.


Day 05: UTTARKASHI – MUKHBA – UTTARKASHI

Today you need travel to Mukhba in the early morning hours. Perform Puja at the Gangotri temple. Sometime later in the mid-afternoon drive back to Uttarkashi. Thereafter enjoy the scrumptious dinner and overnight stay at Uttarkashi.


Day 06: UTTARKASHI – RUDRAPRAYAG

Check out from the Hotel, soon after finishing your Morning meal today.  You need to travel to Rudraprayag via Tehri Dam. On your arrival at Rudraprayag, check-in to your hotel booked. It is the suburbs on the confluence of river Alaknanda and Mandakini. Here in Rudraprayag, you can see two different routes for Kedarnath and Badrinath. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.


Day 07: RUDRAPRAYAG – UKIMATH – RUDRAPRAYAG

Today morning drive to Ukimath, the winter residence of Lord Kedarnath. Execute the spiritual rites and later also visit Chopta. But if you are traveling in Dec, you will not be able to go to Chopta, as it gets covered with dense levels of snowfall. Later travel back to Rudraprayag for a comfortable overnight stay.


Day 08: RUDRAPRAYAG – JOSHIMATH

Early morning hours, after breakfast, check out of the place. You will be taken through some of the most amazing Ghat roads here. On arriving at Joshimath, go to your hotel.  Where you can relax and have some refreshments as well. If you are all set to go to, then visit the encompassing temple in evening. Overnight stay at Joshimath.


Day 9: JOSHIMATH – RUDRAPRAYAG

In the early morning itself, get ready to carry out religious rituals at the winter home of Lord Badrinath. Once you are done, drive back to Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.


Day 10: RUDRAPRAYAG – HARIDWAR

Today after morning breakfast, check out of the hotel. You will drive downhill to Haridwar. Enroot check out Rishikesh is the Yoga exercises capital of India and an emotionally rich city. On getting here at Rishikesh you’ll be transferred to your respective hotel rooms for overnight. Sometime in the evening, check out Parmarth Niketan to take part in the Ganga aarti on the banks of river Ganga. After your trip to Paramarth Niketan, you are free to check out this holy place yourself. An Overnight stay in Haridwar.


Day 11: HARIDWAR – DELHI

This is the last day of your Chardham Yatra. So you can get up even late as per the check out time and enjoy the morning meal comfortably. You will be reclaimed to Delhi (260 km – 7 to 8 hrs). En-route you will get a stop of quite a long time at Haridwar to take a holy shower at Har Ki Pauri on the Ganges. Then drive back again to Delhi.
